Kicking off in London, the Inspire group travelled across Europe from Denmark, to Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Italy stopping at various points along the way to connect with the various parkour and movement communities including hitting Francavilla for the Freesports Festival! Derrick was invited to join Daniel Ilabaca and friends to help conduct a series of parkour workshops and deliver a performance to the British International School of Cairo. It was a great opportunity to share as well as experience Egypt with these talented athletes!
Led by Natalia Ivanova from street eXpression the Inspire Inside Out Initiative toured the Philippines bringing community and the joy of movement to the parkour and open community alike, with special workshops including for some of the street kids in Manila.
In Jan 2015, Derrick joined Inspire tour Japan lead by Daniel ilabaca and his family – its aim to spread the love of movement and community with parkour communities around the beautiful country of Japan.
The Superfly Performance Team was invited to be part of the Earth Hour at The Float @Marina Bay to showcase our skills with some flips and and parkour flows. Superfly Monkey Dragons teamed up with Natasha Studio on 24-25 January to reach out to families-in-need staying at King George Road, just before the Chinese New Year festivities. The Leave No Trace Initiative aims to lead by example. We want to show the community that we respect the environment, that we want to train in harmony with the community. We look after our spaces and we hope everyone else does the same. We hope this initiative reinforces this philosophy and strengthens our commitment as parkour practitioners (traceurs) and just as importantly as members of the community who look after and respect the places which we share and play.
